Wine Terms (Q)
All About Wine Terms (Q)Burgundy Beef is easy and good, plus goes with so many wines. I like sangria with my Burgundy Beef dish. The ingredients are kind of lengthy but worth it. For the meat you need 3 slices bacon, cut into 2-inch pieces, and 3-lb beef round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes. Most people will have 2 cups Burgundy or dry red wine on hand. You need half cup water, one can condensed beef broth, thyme leaves, 1 garlic clove, minced, and 1 bay leaf. You main veggies are the 16 small boiling onions or 16-oz can small onions, drained, and the 16 baby carrots or 5 carrots cut into 2-inch pieces. Option is the 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened. The last things needed are the 2 tablespoons flour, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and 8 cups hot cooked brown or white rice. The directions are easy. Just dump them in the crockpot on low and see back in eight hours.
